Acceptance. One must always come to amends with what he doesn't want. Even Bailey. Does he look like he wants to be in that box? Of course, he didn't at first. But it happened. In one of the most shaming moments of his life, Bailey had fallen into the most obvious trap there could be in the book.
Such an intelligent animal surely could have been able to discern safety over danger. But, he is a shameless glutton. This clouded his judgment, allowed him only to see and smell and think about one thing: the apple. The little slice of a green apple that lay ever so tantalizing under a box that was tilted ever so tactfully called out to him with its syrupy sweet voice... "Eat me." So, he did.
Rushing under the corners of the box, he gobbled up the apple and realized only too late that the box had fallen around him.
Seconds passed, and his bewilderment and anger began to subside into a comfortable acceptance.
He had accepted the box, but wasn't happy. But he began to realize that he really needed this box. He recalled just hours before how he had been lamenting to his peers about how much he needed a suit of armor to protect him from the nasty chihuahua and German shepherd that lived on either sides of his home.
"Yes!" he exclaimed as he review his circumstances. He finally had his armor. With just a little tweaking, he would be able to make it work.
Maybe.
